Amateur Radio (HAM Radio) is a popular hobby and service in which licensed Amateur Radio operators (hams) operate communications equipment. Although Amateur Radio operators get involved for many reasons, they all have in common a basic knowledge of radio technology and operating principles, and pass an examination for the FCC licenses to operate. This eight-session, 16-hour class will prepare attendees to pass the FCC exam, as well as prepare them to get “on the air.” The class is open to ages 12 and older. An accompanying adult is preferred but not required for youth participants. Instructor Peter Albright (AA2AD)has taught ham radio classes in Corry, Union City, and Jamestown, N.Y.

Registration and payment are required by noon Thursday, Feb. 6.
